Presentation Abstract
The ability to present a compelling business case, spoken or written, is an important competency for every executive, manager or professional. Project managers, in particular, face the need to choose or advocate a particular course of action at many junctions throughout a project. Having the right skill set and understanding the key business, financial and behavioral concepts behind decision making makes the difference between success and failure.
The benefit of mastering these skills is threefold:
- It improves the quality of decision making at all levels within an organization.
- It promotes business-like thinking across the organization, generating substantial savings.
- It positions the recommender as a strong thinker and leader within the organization and advances her or his career in doing so.
The participants of this dynamic and engaging session will:
- Become aware of the decision making model
- Learn of the key influences in decision making at the senior level
- Discover how cognitive biases sway our decisions, become aware of them and start using to your advantage
- Understand the role of strategy, vision and values in organizational decisions
- Learn how to deal with committees effectively
- Discover how to structure and develop a winning business case
- Take away 25 dos and don'ts of a successful business case
- Receive a free business case template and a set of published articles on the best business case practices.
